The heat, and what it does to the size of the system
San Bernardino sits against the mountains and runs as hot as Fontana, with summer highs over 100°F and Santa Ana winds in the fall. Air conditioning drives the bill from June through September. We size from twelve months of usage so summer is covered without overbuilding for winter.
Roofs in San Bernardino
The city has everything from 1920s bungalows near downtown to 2000s tile tracts in Verdemont and University Heights. Older homes in the Arrowhead, Del Rosa, and Muscoy areas are mostly composition shingle, and a fair number need a roof before panels. Newer tracts north of the 210 are concrete tile, which the installing crews lift and reset around each mount.
Permits and turning it on
Permits go through the City of San Bernardino Community Development, Building and Safety division. Unincorporated pockets like Muscoy permit through San Bernardino County instead. The installation partner handles both and files the Edison interconnection.
