How we decide whether the roof needs replacing

Before we design anything, we look at the roof’s age, the condition of the underlayment, and how the tile or shingle has held up in the sun. A twenty-year-old composition shingle roof in Fontana is usually at the end of its life. A tile roof can be fine at thirty years if the underlayment is sound. We tell you what we found and why, with photos, and the decision is yours.

Why one permit and one crew matters

When a roofing company and a solar company work separately, each one’s warranty stops where the other one’s work starts. A leak at a panel mount becomes an argument about whose fault it is. When both are coordinated onto the same permit, there is one schedule and one phone number. Ours covers the roof, the mounts, and the panels for 25 years.

Roof types across the region

Concrete tile dominates newer tracts in Fontana, Rancho Cucamonga, Temecula, and the desert cities. Older homes in Pomona, Whittier, El Monte, and San Bernardino are mostly composition shingle, and those are the roofs that most often need replacing before solar. Flat and low-slope roofs in Palm Springs and Palm Desert get foam or torch-down, and panels mount on tilt racks.
